(More customer reviews)They don't actually have a picture of the device. It looks nothing like the sony ericsson clam shell they show. But, the product they sent me was brand new, and indeed the CLEAR 4G mobile usb.
It is completely compatible with CLEAR's "high" speed internet service.
I took a star off because:
a) they don't have a good picture of what you're receiving.
b) This item works with Clear's service, but Clear's services are... mediocre. (more below)
For the Clear 6mb max download speed, I actually get 500kb max download speed. So, you should divide their "max" speed by about 12 to get the actual max speeds you'll be getting. Also, if you read their terms, they actually spell out that they are allowed to have times of zero service, and that they are allowed to have no idea why.
So far however, it's worked fine for me. I can stream Hulu videos, I can watch youtube videos, I can download large documents and work on google documents while experiencing no lag. It works about as well as dsl, just more finicky, and not sharable... on the plus side: it's mobile! So it works great if you're living alone, don't play online games, and have access to a library in case the service cuts out on you (like me).

(More customer reviews)I recently was in the market for wireless router to use in extending my Clear WiMax 4G connection to devices that did not support the USB modem I purchased. The USB modem works great for my Windows laptop, but did not work for my older Mac, Wii or Netflix enabled Blu Ray player.
I thought about getting the router directly from Clear, but the device they offer had features I didn't need or want to pay for most notably the ability to run on batteries.
I eventually settled on the CradlePoint MBR 900 because:
It supports the Clear WiMax USB 4G modem
It supports wired connections, which is what I needed for my BluRay player for Netflix
It supports 802.X wireless connections which is what I needed for the Wii and older Mac
It has the needed security features (authentication and encryption
I received the device about a week after ordering it. It was easy to set up with one major issue, configuring the device for Clear WiMax 4G, which required a call to their support staff to resolve.

It has a USB port where you can plug in your 3G or 4G USB modem then share your wireless internet with other computers in your network. If you have DSL, Cable or FIOS you can use your 3G, 4G or WiMAX internet service as a backup. I have tested with my 3G USB modem. As soon as I disconnected my FIOS internet router automatically switched internet service to 3G within seconds. You can also uplink to another wireless router via WiFi if you don't want to run cable so it works as a repeater. Basically you can extend your wireless without running any cable.
