I bought this on clearance from the Belkin website 2 months ago for $30.
I wouldn't even recommend it at that price.
The firewall will not close off everything it leaves "port 0" open no matter what. And the only way to stealth port 80 is by redirecting it to a fake ip address.
It also slows down such that browsing the web becomes an excruciatingly slow experience. The only way to fix it is to unplug the power and plug it back in whenever it goes slow. I have read reports that turning off the router's DHCP server might prevent that from happening... but DHCP is not something you should have to do without.
This is an out of date product. Badly put together. Definitely not worth what Amazon is asking for it.
Try to find a good deal on a Linksys or something... do not walk, RUN away from Belkin products.

Rosewill RNX-EasyN400 Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this router from Newegg, not Amazon. I could not help but notice that this router has only one review and it is not a very good one. I am not a high level tech person, but rather middling at best. I had some minor problems setting this router up (basically it was because of the horrible instructions that came with it (poor translation from some Asian language)). I use a Macbook Pro to set up my network, so if you use Apple for computing, it is 100% compatible, just not with the software on the disc. The disc is not even that useful if you are using a PC. It is far easier to set up the router through its IP address. I paid $20 for the router, so if it did not work, it was no biggie, but I will say this. This router is 150% dependable. It has been working for over 6 months and has never stopped working (except for when the electricity went out). Its speed is right on, for what it is. It is easy to filter out devices (I use WEP2 and MAC filtering on it). We have 4 laptops that regularly use it (both PC's and Mac's), and Iphone and a Blackberry, a Wii, a XBox 360, a network printer, and a network hard drive that all operate over this router. I have not noticed any lag while playing online Xbox and having 2 computers watching netflix, printing a 150 page report, and having another computer do a Timemachine backup of 2.3 GB at the same time. I would buy two more of these if I needed them, but I don't. Its upload speed is only 54Mbs, but that is all that it is designed for. Read the stats. This is not a current, up to date router (maby 2 or 3 years back technology wise). But for all that, it is easy to set up, bug free in use, and fully upgradable if you desire to put a Linux software package on it. It has the onboard memory for the full size version of DDWRT.

My internet identity was stolen 1 year ago, he has hacked all internet accounts and NOW with the help of this router I PRAY that he will no longer be able to take over anymore accounts. Hopefully he will be blind as to all our accounts.
Cudo's for such a really inexpensive unit that can finally protect us from him.

(More customer reviews)This router is an excellent value. i got this and the AT&T 6500G for 50 at COMP U.S.A. I decided to go for this because after searching for hours for the "perfect" router, i saw pretty much everything had mixed reviews. This one had no reviews so i thought what the heck, i'd try it out. Setup was so simple, i was amazed. After hearing everybody's complaints about setup, i was stunned at how easy this was. Just follow the directions right out of the box and you're set. The speed is great. I can load pages just as fast (cable modem) as with a wired ethernet connection. The only thing i think might be an issue with people who have huge houses is range. I have a house that is about 45 feet long, and the router is at one end of it on the ground floor. I took my notebook upstairs on the opposite end of the house and i had 3 bars our of 5. I'm not sure how it will perform in big house. But keep in mind that my notebook does not have an ATT PC Card. the computer i hooked up with the ATT PCI Card gets 5 bars from about 30 feet away on teh same floor, through a wall. Since the range doesn't affect me, I still gave it 5 stars. Great design too, looks nice sitting on top of my PC. Go get this thing, it is a great deal.

I was having dropped connections, sometimes the SSID was not broadcasting, and a bunch of other stuff. I was about to re-box the thing and send it back, but I decided to fool around with the settings thinking I could not make the situation any worse. I remembered when I activated my DSL modem there was something called PPPoE. The PPPoE could either be hosted on the modem, the router, or the computer. Since the DLink WBR-2310 has PPPoE built-in I decided to turn off the PPPoE on the modem and host it on the router. Low and behold, all my connection problems went away. I was still a little apprehensive that I had found the problem, so I started a large file transfer from my notebook to desktop over the wireless connection and had two other notebooks pulling large downloads from the internet. Not once did the connections drop. Things got slow but nothing ever stopped. So, for anyone having connection troubles and they are using DSL try my example. It may work for you, it may not. I took away a star because I had to "luck-up" on finding the solution. DLink does not provide support for my modem and AT&T does provide support for the router. Terrible situation to put a customer in.

(More customer reviews)This is a very good router, but I had issues during setup. I have Qwest DSL and the DIR-615 wizard setup couldn't auto-configure the router to provide internet service.
Most routers use an intranet address in the range of 192.168.x.x and then devices connected to the router are assigned within that ip range. I finally manually played with the settings and still couldn't get it to work. Frustrated, I called Qwest thinking the problem was with the DNS values. That assumption was incorrect and generally Qwest DSL requires no tweaking at the router level. Qwest DSL tech support was great. They said it was a setup issue with the router and called Dlink's tech team on a Sunday morning and we had a 3-way call. Dlink's technician had me fixed up in 3 minutes.
Here's what worked for me. Under the router's 'network settings' we set the router IP address to 172.16.0.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0. If not checked, enable "DHCP Server". Under 'Wireless' set the Channel to 11 and the Mode to "Mixed" to support 802.11b,g,n. I set security to WPA-Personal. Be sure to save the configuration and this will cause the router to reboot. If things don't work immediately, unplug the modem to cold-start the system, wait a minute and finally plug in the router.
Contrary to what someone wrote in a review, this router does indeed support wireless-N devices in a mixed environement and does not downstep to G for the whole network.
Remember, you can't setup the router via wireless. You have to use an ethernet cable from your pc to port #1 on the router. Another cable runs from the router Internet port to the dsl modem.
Before calling tech support, first confirm that the modem is working. Run a cable from the pc to the modem and confirm you can browse the Internet. With the modem eliminated as an issue, the tech people can quickly help you configure the router. I'm using Vista and the setup process did not require any Windows firewall changes so keep the firewall 'On'.
I may be wrong but here's what I think the core setup problem was for me. The Qwest DSL modem uses a DHCP Default Gateway of 192.168.0.1. This is the same IP the Dlink router attempts to use as its address. Thus you end up with an IP addresss conflict since both can't use the same address. The Dlink technician changed the router address to a different subnet in 172.16.x.x and eliminated the conflict.

It works for just browsing, and gaming alike. I have yet to lose a connection with the massive use I have going on with it.
I have 9 computers, 1 Playstation 3, 2 Xbox 360's and 1 Nintendo Wii, running off of this one wireless router, and even with 80 percent of those up at one time, I have never been dropped, and have seen full connectivity each time, with perfect latency in between. No lag, Nor overlay.
I live him an apartment, with 3 people.
